PRAISE LIKE A "BOBBLEHEAD”

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

As I reminisced today, I sat and thought about how good God is and all the things that he has brought me through. Not to mention the things that He blocked. I could not help but to give Him praise for it all. I started thanking Him and then my head started moving back and forth and before I knew it, I realized what it feels like to be a bobblehead.

Try it. Move your head back and forth as you read the next paragraph.

Remember that time money was scarce, but your bills were not? What about that job that you got but you were not qualified? How about that accident that did not happen because you were a few seconds short of a collision? Remember that hunger pain that got satisfied? Do you recall that diagnosis or pain that you no longer have? And surely you remember your decision about which outfit to wear because you had options. Do you recollect when you thought you were going to lose your mind because you did not know if you were coming or going? Do not forget the comment you made “If it isn’t one thing it’s another”. And it felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders? Do not overlook when nobody understood how you felt but God? There is so much more that can be added to this list.

OH, but thanks be to God, that the back-and-forth motion of your head reminds you of all the times that God came through for you and all the times He answered your prayers. God is faithful. Philippians 4:19(a) reads "But my God shall supply all your needs.

Even the times when the answer to your prayers were “no”? The “no” answer, the movement of the head from left to right, is also a bobblehead move. Do you realize the “no” answer was to protect you and block you from something that you did not realize was not good for you or that you were not ready for? Our God is wise as it reads in Daniel 2:20, Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power.”

Do not forget the other movement of the bobblehead. That is the movement when the entire body shakes. That is a result of when the praise is getting good to you and feels like fire shut up in your bones and all you can do is shake, shake, shake because God has been just that good! Jeremiah 20:9(b) reads, it becomes in my heart like a fire burning, locked up in my bones, and I struggle to contain it, and I am not able.

So, as you think about how good God has been and you start to praise Him, remember…. There is nothing like a good BOBBLEHEAD PRAISE!!!

During your time of praise, create your own BOBBLEHEAD PRAISE LIST.

The thing about bobbleheads is all it takes is some type of movement to get them started. So, when I think of all the movements God has made in my life, I can't help but praise Him!
