Trusting God - Not A Mistake

Updated: May 28

Surely as the sun rises and the sun sets, we have daily emotions depending on what is going on in our lives at the time.  We know that whatever happens, God has already made provisions to see us through it. As it reads in Isaiah 46:4(NIV) Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.’ That is God’s promise. And, because of that promise, we should Trust God!

We don’t want our emotions to be misinterpreted:

Don’t mistake our tears as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our concerns as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our intermittent worry as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our spurts of feeling overwhelmed as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our sporadic heightened stress level as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our stints of anxiety as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our sad moments as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t mistake our low times as a lack of trust in God.

Don’t let our question “Why me?” be interpreted as a lack of trust in God.

God knows these are just some of the human characteristics that rise up in us from time to time as we go through this journey of life.  We must remember as we experience these feelings, we should refocus on God to bring us out of that uncomfortable emotion. As a matter of fact, God’s word tells us just how to handle these emotions/feelings.

James 1:2-6 (The Message version) reads:

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. God promises to take care of us and that he will provide all that we need in every way!’

Our emotions from or circumstances and situations may sometimes feel as if it is too much to bear.  It’s acceptable to have those feelings.  Feelings are a part of human nature, and they are real.  But GOD is even more real and so is His promise to keep us.

Don’t allow natural feelings of uncomfortable emotions cause our TRUST in God to waiver.  He will bring us through!  Pray on it!  Trust Him with our whole heart! Anchor our trust in Him!  Just as Psalm 25:1 reads In you, Lord our God, I put our trust.’

BE ENCOURAGED!!

Trusting God is the best choice regardless of the situation. I thank God for understanding all of my emotions and yet He still loves me.
